A Really Goode Birthday

Lavender Is For Lunatics!

For my birthday I decided to check out some more of Sonoma County.  Tracy and I packed the car and hit some wildly winding country roads in search of wonder.  Redwoods, bakeries, rocky coasts, hippie tea shops, and a whole ‘lotta lavender–  It was an awesome day of exploring and goofing around.

A quick glimpse of the day (in riveting video)

Destinations-

An insane mountain drive on Sweetwater Springs Rd.  Armstrong Redwoods Park (Redwoods), Wildflour Bread (organic bread and beautiful gardens), Bodega Head (Sonoma Coast), and Matanzas Creek Winery (Lavender and tasting room legend Ira).

Happy birthday, Hardy. Here is something for you to do this weekend. Get a canoe or kayak and float down the Russian River to Johnson’s Beach in Guerneville where, from the river, you will have a front row seat at the RR Jazz and Blues Festival. You won’t be alone. Lot’s of floaters enjoy the show that way. The only problem is dancing. Hard to do in a boat without tipping it. In a few weeks you must go to the Harvest Fair and taste everything.
    Cheers!

(dancing in a boat sounds like quite a challenge!)
